The rowland & associates approach we use havening techniques as part of a coaching programme (where relevant) or as a stand-alone intervention. When a client has an emotional or psychological challenge that is 'getting in the way', limiting them or overtly distressing them, for example exam anxiety, relationship issues, work/life stress, bereavement, addiction, anger management, low self confidence. We may suggest havening as part of our approach. We work with some clients solely using havening techniques. Havening can be used to deepen self-acceptance, increase self-confidence and strengthen personal resilience, as part of a coaching programme more generally. The results, as you'll see from our client testimonials, can be profound.
If you are new to havening, to enrol in this course you must register for a havening techniques training course, either with myself of one of the other trainers who chooses to use this science introduction. The havening training combines this online course with a weekend practical training. What happens in a Havening session?
Let go: feature i would like to thank you for the havening sessions you provided. I was surprised what a positive difference it has had on my sleeping pattern, which is much improved. Prior to havening i found it very difficult to get to sleep, i would wake many times during the night and have negative thoughts on my mind. I am now able to go to sleep quickly and if i wake, i am able to get back to sleep easily without the negative thoughts. Since then i have also noticed how at peace i have been on the anniversary of my close family member passing.
Havening techniques® is a psycho-sensory technique using touch (and can be self touch so you can have a session with me wherever you live) to change the way a painful and traumatic memory is stored. It works by using touch, distraction and eye movements. You recall an event, memory or limiting belief that you would like to work on. The touch produces delta waves in the brain, relaxes you and makes you feel safe (supported also by my trauma informed training) the touch stimulates the skin’s receptors and increases neurochemicals in the brain. During this process the memory is delinked from the fight-flight-freeze response meaning you can look back on the memory and it doesn’t have the same emotional charge to it.
When Havening is successful, this change is permanent.
The havening technique havening is a gentle, effective, efficient and elegant technique for alleviating symptoms of anxiety, fear, panic, stress and trauma. Havening uses touch to increase delta wave activity in the brain. Delta waves are calming brain waves that are naturally produced when we’re relaxed or in a deep sleep. The havening touch causes a change in brain chemistry and permanently removes the emotion and nervous system response associated with a memory, craving or distressing thought. The havening techniques work by targeting the amygdala, the brain’s alarm, located in in the limbic system (the emotional part) of the brain.
Emdr is a psychological treatment that involves eye movement in reprocessing trauma and ptsd. This is an interactive therapy treatment we offer that we have found to be incredibly effective in relieving psychological stress, and offering our clients new ways to view troubling memories and traumatic events. Emdr reprocesses distressing thoughts and/or memories and even can sometimes create a visual block of them too. You will be able to recall the thoughts however you will struggle to get back those troublesome feelings and images. This technique works for people of all ages, however, if you suffer with epilepsy and would like to choose this form of treatment, please make your therapist aware before they begin.
