A self-havening technique to try

Hypnotherapist & nlp specialist james banfield teaches his version of a technique called havening. research This can be used to release trauma, or any negative emotio previous.

In a heartbeat that strangeness is forgotten. I feel a surge of anger that is almost frightening in its intensity. I am almost overcome with the desire to get up and punch the bare white wall in front of me in the hope of smashing the plaster. I open my eyes and tell paul mckenna that we have to stop for a moment, sit back and attempt to catch my breath. "sorry about that. These sessions aren't always easy. But we need to get to a place where these emotions you're feeling are in equilibrium," he says. So we start again.

This interview is about how havening technique therapy produces highly effective results when treating anxiety based disorders trauma, addictions & creating resilience. It also includes a havening demo that you can follow along with. This interview is part of the philosopher of love show series hosted by nausheena mahomed. What Is the Havening Technique?

The application of havening touch®,  which creates delta brain waves can be applied by self touch (more popular now due to covid 19 & online sessions called self havening by many) or traditionally applied by myself (a certified havening techniques® practitioner), during the firing of neuro pathways linked to specific memories, events this activates chemical reactions from the old laid neuro pathway from our past, this in turn creates the necessary conditions in the brain for depotentiation to occur within a therapy setting (deleting the receptors so the pathway is not fired and connected) the result of removing the receptors means that stimulus received via our senses that would normally continue to trigger the upsetting emotions and physical response from a trauma based memory or event are cut.

In these uncertain times some of us might feel stressed, anxious or isolated from those around us. Practising some self-havening techniques can help with these feelings. The havening technique is a process scientifically proven to eliminate the consequences of emotional stored memories through the encouragement and development of a more resilient mind. When we have an event in our life that we give meaning to, based on how we process the information via our five senses, we can sometimes develop phobias, traumatically encoded memories (ptsd/injury), pathological emotions, anxiety, grief, somatic pain and many other conditions. The havening technique, otherwise known as psycho-sensory therapy, is proving highly effective in removing these responses.

What is meant by havening techniquesⓡ? self-havening is a scientifically proven way to transform negative reactions to difficult memories, by using touch and mental distraction. The touch helps to transform the chemistry in the brain which connects memory to emotional response. Often the body gets stuck in a reflex pattern of anxious anticipation which we can’t get rid of. We don’t seem able to reason it away. Such reactions can pop up just before a performance or a presentation. With some self-havening techniques coaching you can separate those responses and watch them fade away. There is no physical contact between me and my client (unless specifically requested), as i prefer to empower students with self-havening.

A new study has been published about the psychological intervention, havening – with results showing that a single session of the therapy could reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. Professor neil greenberg was one of the academics involved in the study by king’s college london. Professor greenberg explained: “havening is a relatively new form of intervention used to treat depression, anxiety and stress. We found that there was a clear improvement in all mental health measures on the participants in this study after their havening intervention. Reported symptoms fell from moderate clinical levels prior to the havening session to non-clinical levels afterwards.

We use these techniques in a coaching process to accompany people, to help them overcome emotional issues and reach their goals quickly in areas of performance, change management and phobia removal. What they thought impossible is now totally accessible with the havening techniques. It is also possible to self-apply the havening gestures and change the electrochemical environment of our brain for more well-being. self-havening : this neurobiological method aims to break the links between disturbing events we may encounter and the emotions attached to them. It is very effective in reducing stress and negative emotions, but also in developing self-confidence and optimism.
