What Can Havening Help With?

Havening, is an alternative therapy developed by ronald ruden and his brother steve ruden; it relies on "amygdala depotentiation" that purportedly can help people with psychological problems, particularly those related to phobias, post-traumatic stress and anxiety. “havening, the transitive verb of the word haven, means to put into a safe place. ” "havening touch" is claimed to elicit delta brain waves and to act directly on receptors in the brain where trauma is believed to be stored, to down regulate the emotional charge, mostly while the client is distracted. This means the client does not have to stay in, or talk about, upsetting events or feelings.

These three components when applied alter the brain waves to allow for the receptor to become internalized and thus block any response. The details are in dr ruden’s book when the past is always present. The question of how havening touch affects the brain to produce this effect led to research on everything from traditional chinese medicine and their acupuncture sites to the neurobiology of traditional extinction techniques. This led to an understanding that all sensory input could affect the brain, and the field of  psychosensory therapy was born. Through his research he created havening - meaning to take someone to a place of safety.

The significance of harry's new book is hard to understate; it is the right book at the right time and hopefully will be read by the right people--those people passionate about making the world a better place. Fifteen minutes to freedom offers exactly that. A scientifically grounded, deceptively simple, elegant technique, when done correctly, works incredibly fast in bringing about permanent change of long standing conflicts and issues. As a practicing psychologist with 45 years of experience, i know how difficult it is to induce change when clients find every reason to not change. Havening (originally called the amygdala depotentiation technique) is that revolutionary process on the verge of going viral.
