A panic attack is a sudden episode of intense fear that triggers severe physical reactions when there is no real danger or apparent cause. When a panic attack occurs, you might think you're losing control, having a heart attack or even dying. If you've had recurrent, unexpected panic attacks and spent long periods in constant fear of another attack, you may have a condition called panic disorder. Although panic attacks themselves aren't life-threatening, they can be frightening and significantly affect your quality of life. Most people with panic disorder who receive therapy finish feeling better and more able to manage their symptoms.

i like to reassure myself with books like these as i continue to recover, because recovery can be a very up-and-down affair and you need to ensure you don't fall back into old patterns of negative thoughts and worrying. On a bad day, you need to remain faithful, knowing that you're doing the right thing. It took me a long time to reach a point where i realised other self-help books (like 'the secret' and books by louise hay/paul mckenna) and health supplements weren't getting me anywhere. This book is very similar to paul david's 'at last a life', but is more condensed and better edited. events
