The ucsf center for sexual health offers education and
treatment
for women of all ages with sexual health concerns.
We specialize in helping women with:
arousal disorder, or a lack of response to sexual stimulation
sexual health effects of menopause and perimenopause
sexual dysfunction due to childbirth or physical trauma
hypoactive sexual desire disorder, or decreased sexual desire
pain during sex
vaginal dryness
your visit will include a thorough review of your medical history and relationship issues in addition to a physical exam. Treatments may include medications, such as flibanserin (sometimes called "the female viagra") or hormone therapy. In certain cases, we offer minor surgical procedures to address vaginal issues that cause pain during sex.
Negusse ocbamichael, pa-c, graduated from the university of washington medical school, pa program. His clinical experience and interests are in infectious diseases, reproductive and sexual health. For over 28 years, he has worked at the king county sexual health clinic, university of washington, virology research clinic, hiv prevention trials network and international medicine clinic at harborview medical center, as a clinician, researcher and administrator.
He also served as a faculty member, speaker and advisory committee member for seattle std/hiv prevention and training center.
Testing and related treatment for sexually transmitted infections (stis) medical services required for birth control, pregnancy, or family planning (except sterilization/getting tubes tied or vasectomy) services needed for outpatient care, treatment, or rehabilitation for substance abuse services needed for outpatient care, treatment, or rehabilitation for mental health. If you are married (or previously married), you can agree to medical or surgical treatment (except sterilization/getting tubes tied, vasectomy, or abortion) if you are pregnant, medical or surgical treatment for you or the child if related to the delivery of the child. After delivery, the law considers the mother an adult for consenting to medical or surgical treatment for her child.
If you or your partner(s) have unprotected sex, you can get a sexually transmitted infection ( sti ). If left untreated, stis may cause serious health problems – including life-threatening infections and infertility. Preventing and knowing how to deal with stis starts with understanding the symptoms, how to protect yourself and your partner(s), how and where to get tested, and treatment options available to you.
The sexual health clinic at 15 waller street (rbj health center, 1st floor) provides evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of sexually transmitted infections. Call 512-972-5430 to schedule an appointment. Clinic hours are 8 a. M. - 12 p. M. And 1 - 5 p. M. Monday through friday. The fee for examination and treatment is $20, which includes all laboratory testing. Note: we can only test for genital herpes if you have active symptoms.
