You'll find more elegant settings and exquisite interpretations of sushi on the Strip. But the restaurants outside the Strip are just as impressive. There are many excellent sushi restaurants within a short drive from the Strip, especially in Chinatown on Spring Mountain Road. Yui Edomae provides a relaxing fine dining experience, with carefully crafted sushi and other delicious dishes. The food is exceptional and the prices are much lower than comparable restaurants on the Strip.

Yama Sushi's sushi is fresh and delicious. You'll find these delicious dishes on the nigiri sushi menu: Halibut and Giant Clams, Garlic tuna Nigiri, Garlic nigiri scallops, tamago, and Saba nigiri to name just a few. Yama Sushi won the title of Las Vegas’ first and only all-you-can-eat sushi place. This award is proof of the incredible experience the establishment has had over the years. The AYCE lunch menu is $25 and the dinner menu is $29

Yellowtail offers a variety of sushi, sashimi and sushi rolls. My favorite is the Angry Salmon specialty sushi roll, which includes salmon, avocado and serrano peppers. Fresh omakase can also be ordered. Kaiseki Yuzu is one Japanese restaurant that changes its menu every month. They only offer two seating times, 5:30pm or 8:00pm, similar to Sushi Kame. These are the only times you can make reservations, so book your reservation at least a few days before.

Sen of Japan has been a local favourite that is getting rave reviews from critics and diners. Sen of Japan serves finely prepared food in a comfortable and elegant setting. The location off the Strip helps to keep the prices affordable, but not cheap. Sen of Japan was opened by the former Nobu chef at Hard Rock. His expertise is evident in the tasty food. There are many options for diners to choose from: cold and warm appetizers, sushi and sashimi, grilled, braised and fried dishes, and tempura. Although Sen of Japan is a bit out of the way, once you get there you will be glad that you drove.

There is a large selection of choices, but sushi rolls are the main focus. For some bargains, you can check out their SAMBA Hour. This hour is available every day from 3 - 00 - 6:00 p.m. (except Saturday). Sushi Roku's location is in the Forum Shops located at Caesars Palace. You have the opportunity to take in the amazing view from the 3rd story while you eat at Sushi Roku.
